The United Kingdom exits the European Union with a Withdrawal Agreement

A transitional period will be implemented until the end of 2020, during which the current arrangements will continue to apply in all sectors, including the freedom of movement.

The future regime as regards movement of citizens between the United Kingdom and the European Union will be part of the negotiations between the United Kingdom and the EU on their future relationship.

The United Kingdom exits the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement

The EU has already adopted a Regulation, binding to all member-states and to be implemented immediately after a no-deal Brexit, according to which the United Kingdom’s citizens are exempted from the obligation of a visa for short visits, until 90 days, to the member-states. The United Kingdom is expected to apply with a relevant reciprocal arrangement for EU citizens.
